Dr. Mandy Song is the Managing Partner of Bayes PLLC. She has nearly twenty years of experience in U.S. patent prosecution, client counseling, patent portfolio management, U.S. federal district court litigation, Section 337 investigations at the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC), USPTO post-grant invalidity proceedings, and congressional hearings. Her work focuses on patents in electronics, computers, medical devices, mechanical engineering, and materials. Drawing on her multi-cultural background, Mandy has provided U.S. intellectual property services to numerous Chinese companies.
In patent prosecution, Mandy manages portfolios for hundreds of clients and is especially skilled with complex technologies. She holds a B.S. from Tsinghua University and an M.S. in biomedical engineering and Ph.D. in electrical and computer engineering from Duke University, giving her a strong technical foundation. She has personally drafted, filed, and prosecuted thousands of U.S. patent applications.
Mandy is also a seasoned lead U.S. litigator, directing every stage of a case: pre-suit investigation, fact and expert discovery, motion practice, claim construction and Markman hearings, depositions, proposed findings of fact, hearings, and trial. She is equally adept at alternative dispute resolution and settlement negotiations.
Mandy frequently teaches Continuing Legal Education (CLE) courses. She has been invited by Harvard Law School to share her experience in U.S.-China dispute resolution, served as an adjunct professor at George Washington University (GWU) Law School, lectured on U.S. patent law to students at Duke’s Pratt School of Engineering, and serves as IP advisor to Duke’s startup incubator (DUHatch).
